L.O.R. from Captain John Hale, VP of flight, AMERICAN AIRLINES
October 2, 2012
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Captain John Hale and I am Vice President of Flight for American Airlines. It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Captain August Stirling Mazenko.
Captain Mazenko first came to American in 1986. At that time, all pilots were required to complete initial training as a Flight Engineer on the B727. Most all new-hires would testify that their initial training at AA was some of the most difficult training they had ever experienced in their career. To fail ones initial check ride or take extra time was not at all uncommon. Then Flight Engineer Mazenko was the only candidate in his class to pass his initial check-ride out right. Since that time CA Mazenko has demonstrated the same proficiency and professionalism both in and out of the cockpit.
Captain Mazenko has flown and captained nearly every aircraft in our fleet here at American Airlines. We’ve entrusted him with our aircraft, crew and passengers without hesitation for nearly 27 years. His flawless safety record in itself is testimony to his dedication to the profession of Airline Pilot.
Fellow crewmembers on both sides of the cockpit door respect Captain Mazenko. His reputation amongst his peers is excellent. He was once invited to join our team of B767 Check-Airmen but had to decline due to personal circumstances. He is also respected by his cabin crew and always had a kind word to say to the agents, mechanics and ground crew.
Adding Captain Mazenko to its team would enhance any flight department. His commitment to safety is second to none. His leadership is subtle, yet strong. His loyalty is unwavering and his judgment is consistent and solid.
It has been a pleasure having Captain Mazenko on our team for so long. We wish him well. He will be missed.
Sincerely,
Captain John Hale

To Whom It May Concern:
I am proud to recommend Mr. Stirling Mazenko for a pilot position with your company. I was asked to write this letter as one who has known and flown with Mr. Mazenko on and off for the past 25 years. Over all these years I have also been proud to call him my friend.
Stirling is a highly intelligent and highly motivated pilot. We first flew together when working for Simmons Airlines in and out of Chicago O’Hare International Airport in 1984. Flying the Shorts 360 aircraft in the upper Midwest in some of the worst weather was certainly challenging.
Stirling has proven over these years of being friends that he is a man who has integrity, a high work ethic and one who always goes out of his way to assist others. He has always been considered an asset in all of his positions. His experience as both a Domestic and International Captain and First Officer with American Airlines would be an invaluable asset for your company.
Always, in his work, Stirling is consistent, dedicated, passionate, enthusiastic, cheerful, and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him for a position within your organization as his leadership, education, and experience would certainly enhance your operation.
Thank you once again for the opportunity to recommend such an exceptional and impressive man, and pilot. If I can be of further assistance please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely Yours,
James H. Lightfoot

To Whom it may concern.
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Captain Stirling Mazenko. I have personally flown with Captain Mazenko worldwide many times on the G450 and can say without hesitation that he is always the consummate professional and would be an excellent addition to your flight department.
Captain Mazenko’s 38 years of piloting experience becomes obvious the first time you fly with him. His CRM skills are excellent and his aviating skills seem almost second nature. It is great having a partner in the cockpit who operates with enthusiasm and attention to detail. Client/Crew safety and comfort are always always ahead of all else when he flies. He is a self starter and a team player that comes to work every day with an enthusiasm that is contagious. Best of all, he is just as much a great guy to hang out with on a layover as he is a pleasure to work with in the cockpit.
I know the competition for a position in a top tier flight department is high. You probably will have many highly qualified candidates to choose from. In my opinion, Captain Mazenko should be at the top of your list. He will undoubtedly represent your flight department well whether on or off the airplane.
Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to discuss Captain Mazenko further.
Sincerely,
Captain Rich Ferm

To Whom it may concern.
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of recommendation for Stirling Mazenko. I have known Stirling for a decade on both a professional and a personal level, and can unequivocally say that he would be a valuable asset to your flight department.
I have had the great opportunity to fly with Stirling on many occasions, and he has consistently demonstrated deep knowledge of the aircraft, a high level of professionalism, sound judgment, and strong skills. While a captain at American Airlines, he was always able to bring out the best in the crew, and I certainly used his example to further my own development as an aviator. At American Stirling has flown several different aircraft, and has flown extensively throughout the United States, as well as all over the world. His venture into corporate aviation has only added to his impressive roster of experience.
While it is probably not difficult to find a pilot with the necessary resume of aircraft flown, and destinations reached, I think the real value Stirling brings to the table is himself. He is someone who is a pleasure to be around. A long flight never feels long when done with the right person, and he is the right person. He exhibits good, solid values, is a real family man, and has a long history of doing the right thing for the right reasons. He has proven to be a great leader, and has earned the respect of all who work with him. He is well liked by his peers, and always leaves those with whom he interacts with positive impressions.
I cannot think of anyone I would endorse more whole-heartedly than Stirling. I hope that you get an opportunity to see for yourselves what a great addition to your cadre he would make.
Please feel free to contact me anytime,
Sincerely,
